Featured Artisan: Alejandra Parra

Maria Alejandra Parra is a jewelry artisan from Venezuela who found her passion for metalsmithing while studying fashion design. After graduating in 2010, she started studying jewelry making. She worked alongside other jewelers as she developed her own style. By 2012, she launched her own brand, Alejandra Parra Joyas.

Her designs are inspired by everything around her — from nature and architecture to the simple moments of daily life. She creates timeless pieces meant to be mixed and matched, so they can be worn in many ways.

Her process begins with sketches, then she carefully shapes the metal, soders the parts together, smooths every imperfection, and polishes the final piece. For Maria, the beauty is in the details.
